RR Pogoy sizzled for 16 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter as TNT overcame Meralco, 101-84, on Sunday for its third straight win after a 0-3 start in the PBA Philippine Cup at Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
Pogoy knocked down three triples and hit one four-pointer during the decisive final canto to register a season-high, allowing the Tropang 5G to even their win-loss slate after an alarming skid to open their quest for a historic Grand Slam.

Calvin Oftana had 28 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals to continue his impressive showing in TNT’s current winning run.
Rey Nambatac added 13 points, five rebounds and five assists but hurt his groin during the fourth and didn’t return while Poy Erram added 10 for the Tropang 5G.
TNT moved to seventh spot following the victory as it now enters a 10-day break with Rain or Shine next on May 21 at Ynares Center in Antipolo City.
Meralco fell to eighth at 3-4 as it couldn’t prevent Pogoy’s hot shooting.
Cliff Hodge had 23 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals while Chris Newsome added 18 points for the Bolts.
They will try to bounce back anew on Wednesday at the same venue, but against the unbeaten Magnolia Hotshots.
Meralco faces a grueling schedule after taking the responsibility of representing the league in next month’s Basketball Champions League Asia.
