MANILA, Philippines — TNT big man Poy Erram couldn’t help but regret how the Tropang Giga let go of a possible twice-to-beat advantage in the PBA Philippine Cup playoffs.
After TNT’s close loss to Magnolia, 88-83, at Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Friday, Erram lamented what could’ve been a smoother path in their grand slam bid.

“Siyempre, sayang (of course, that was too bad),” said Erram to Inquirer Sports.
“We had a good start. We just had a couple of lapses in the end and we couldn’t maintain our lead. It kept going from there — we had so many turnovers and we couldn’t execute, plus they kept on scoring.”
Erram delivered a near double-double of 12 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks, but TNT still finished the eliminations with a 6-5 record.
The Tropang Giga dropped their last two games after riding a hot streak of six straight wins.
Despite the tough loss — and the possibility of facing Magnolia again in the PBA quarterfinals — Erram believes their grand slam bid is still alive.
“We still have a chance… We can do this. I’ll be ready to help the team.”
“Whatever coach (Chot Reyes) asks of me, I’ll be doing it. Plus, I’ll check my emotions because it can affect the whole team. I want to make sure that I’m okay, physically and mentally, to help the team in the best way possible.”
